Dark Souls. Unbroken Paula Morris (Ngati Wai) is a multi-award-winning novelist, short story writer and essayist from New Zealand. She writes fiction for adults and supernatural mysteries for younger readers, and more recently her first book for children. Overall, Dark Souls is a very enjoyable if more innocent ghost story that will appeal to younger YA readers. Fans of Ruined, also by Paula Morris, will not want to miss her second YA ghost novel, nor will readers who also enjoyed Shadowed Summer by Saundra Mitchell.
